Good morning to my subbies and all the new comers (that really should become subscribers).
I missed my last scheduled Mori posting date because of an unexpected opportunity to spend time with my family! I mean would it even be NBN anymore if I hit all my scheduled dates?
Don’t worry, it’s a double trouble day and Mori will go live at 9 tonight.
Today. Is. Important.
I need to talk to you.
Really bad.
About stuff.
Stuff that I think we all need to talk about this time of year.
It’s the end of semester for my high school and college loves, it’s coming up on the end of the year for all of my out-of-school-working-too-much loves that are just trying to get enough days off to enjoy the holidays. (Fingers crossed you get all the family time possible as we creep up on the holidays.)
I’ve spent a lot of time this year encouraging you all to keep going, stay motivated, and push yourselves past your comfort zones.
Today is no different. We are talking specifically about passion and a conviction about the type of person you are.
Let’s get into it (It’s going to be scatter brained and messy):
Listen to me. Whatever is going on right now that has you down or bothered is not important. You know what is important? Your goals.
Currently as a student, employee, friend, and family member I am doing pretty. darn. good. Yesterday though I felt sorry for myself. I spent 10 minutes feeling sorry for myself yesterday over something downright dumb.
Then I thought… Why? I have so many reasons to be happy and proud of myself. My grades rock, my family is AWESOME, and my job is stellar! I’m headed towards my degree at light speed! What’s not to like about life!?
YOU DO TOO!

Make the person that sees greatness in you YOURSELF!
I’m not going to sit here and tell you life will be peachy of the rest of your days. I’m not an idiot and I’m not a liar. What I’m saying is that as long as you are loving and kind with people and PASSIONATE about your goals you are doing a phenomenal job. You don’t need me to tell you that! You should know. In fact, it’s up to you to know that and believe that about yourself.
Sometimes small things get you down (or a mountain of small things piled on your shoulders). I understand that. We are human and even the strongest humans are fragile. Here’s the thing. We can’t waste any time feeling sorry for ourselves. Mental health days. Days to get back on your feet. Those things will always be okay! Just as long as you don’t waste any of those minutes/hours/days on self pity.
You’re doing a good job. There are two months left in 2014 and you have made it all this time! You have a heart that’s still beating and a life you’re still living. Sometimes if we have negative influences in our lives we forget how lucky we are! REMEMBER STRONG OPPOSITION LEADS TO STRONG WILL.
I hope that as we finish up these last few months in 2014 y’all will forget the deadlines, the angry bosses, the tests, the small stuff, the fights of any kind, and ANYONE telling you that you can’t or laughs at your dreams or goals or projects. Why? Because the simple fact that you think a thought/goal/job you have done is important or your best is MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH!
Please don’t waste any time not believing in you and remember:
“A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.” ― D.H. Lawrence, Complete Poems of D. H. Lawrence.
XOXO,
NBNealie
P.S. I know my blog posts contain lots of lists and scenarios! I try and keep the content relevant to everyone because I have a very diverse audience. Thanks for putting up with all of my hullabaloo!
P.P.S. Every year NBN does a self harm/depression/drug abuse awareness segment! (TWLOHA, Semicolon Project, Love is Louder, On The Bright Side I’m Not Addicted to Cocaine) So be looking for that in November some time. Remember to love yourself! (and if that ever gets to be just a bit too hard remember that myself and all of us here at NBN love you.)

Amen amen amen!
